He is a Professor of Behavioral Economics at Duke University, scientific researcher, speaker and bestselling author of <\/span><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/danariely.com\/books\/irrationally-yours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Irrationally Yours<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/danariely.com\/books\/predictably-irrational\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Predictably Irrational<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/danariely.com\/books\/the-upside-of-irrationality\/\">The Upside of Irrationality <\/a><\/strong>and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/danariely.com\/books\/the-honest-truth-about-dishonesty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The (Honest) Truth About Dishonesty<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2010 he co-founded Beworks, the first consulting firm that applies behavioral science in developing marketing strategies. In 2012, Dan Ariely co-founded Timeful, the company that was reinventing time management for people, which was acquired by Google in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He holds a permanent column called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/news\/types\/ask-ariely\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ask Ariely<\/strong><\/a> in the Wall-Street Journal, where he gives weekly answers to the reader\u2019s economical curiosities and professional dilemmas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan became passionate about the decision-making process after a traumatic experience as a teenager, when he went through a long period of recovery in the burns intensive care unit. He had had the chance to observe how people around him had the tendency to make wrong decisions and persist in them, so he had decided that this is a subject he wanted to dedicate himself to.
